W H I S T L E R
Well it probably comes as no surprise that we love to travel and spend time away as a family, and I feel incredibly honoured to be able to.. but secret be told as of lately our travels usually revolve around work one way or another whether its through my husbands business trips (which happen quite often) or blogging, and occasionally just for actual vacation – we get around!
But there is something to be said about exploring your own backyard(ish) and in beautiful British Colombia there is so much to see and explore! We enjoyed recently a fun 48 hr quick trip to this special place and figured it was about time we shared some our our favourite stops!
So I’ve compiled a list of fun and family friendly activities…
Adventure & Explore
There is so many fun things to do with the kiddos in Whistler, heres a few of our faves:
The Village – Whether you like to shop or not it feels magical walking around Whistler village. All cobblestone paved and so much mountain character its a must, and truly the gem of Whistler. Everything is fairly stroller accessible and there are some fun stores geared towards kids (and those kids at heart) the Cows store is a must stop, and so is the glass elevator sweet shop! Outside that candy store is thee coolest playground you will ever find! Inspired by the outdoors and Whistler itself, my kids could have spent hours there.
Biking – For those of you with kids who are on “Big kid” mountain bikes – or still little tykes on scoots – there is a lot of fun to be had! There are designated mountain trails and terrains, and most paths are bike-able too! Looking for something a little extra “Cool” to make your kids day? Checkout the FloPark next to the Skate Park! Perfect for those littles that are still learning to ride, and some big jumps for those BIG kids who are looking to catch a little air time 😉
Hiking and Walking – There are so many trails and hikes to do! Our favourite is the Lost Lake Loop. Family bike or just going for a walk, its gorgeous views everywhere you go, and lots of places for forest adventuring!
Peak 2 Peak – The Peak 2 Peak gondola ride is out of this world! An iconic feature of the West Coast BC, it is something you will never forget! With the most spectacular views of the stunning mountains and surrounding areas, you will get lost in the majesty of the PNW floating between…well.. two peaks! Winter or Summer it is a MUST DO for your vacation to Whistler.
Sip & Eat
Brunch – $$$ – Now if your willing to spend little more money on food or food is what you live for – The Wildflower in the Fairmont Chateau Whistler has a buffet that is not one to miss!
Lunch – Portobello $-$$ – a cute cafe where you can eat in or take out! Their baked goods and baked macaroni are a must try!
Dinner – Whistler BG Urban Grill $$ – This cute little Italian eatery has some really great eats for an affordable price and its a great family friendly atmosphere!
Drinks – 21 Steps Kitchen + Bar $-$$ – Now this one isn’t family friendly – duh, its a bar – but if somehow your able to get a night out and have someone watch the kids – or hey even if you do a couples getaway – this little bar tucked away in the village is one to add to your list.

Stay, Play, & Relax
I have spent a ton of time in Whistler over the years, in every season, and I keep coming back because its just that special. But in my many years of coming here, I have NEVER had such an incredible experience, or ever really, like we did at Four Seasons Whistler.
From the moment we came in the front door it was like being welcomed in as family. Our kids were even greeted and were given a special stuffed animal to cuddle with and remember their stay (both of them picked an eagle, no idea why.. but alright!) . Then coming up to our room, which by the way was far past phenomenal, they had some pretty amazing stuff awaiting us.
Our room had an adorable crib waiting for Ivy, and not only that but diapers (in here size!? like what!?), wipes, and honest company baby products. We went straight to the pool obviously (cause I apparently gave birth to fish) and we enjoyed some splashing around in the rain together. They have a massive pool area and great hot tubs, on sunny days they have a cute little cabana with drinks being served too! When we were walking back to our room we were stopped by someone who brought slippers for the kids – like they tracked us down to give the kids slippers – who are these people!?
Upon returning to our room, and every time we did actually, we were greeted with some amazing home made snacks and cookies – this was the kids absolute highlight.
The staff was so on top of everything, so kind and just went above and beyond and honestly we don’t know how we are going to stay anywhere else ever again, you guys have ruined us in the best way!
I really could go on and on, Brent and I just kept telling each other how we couldn’t believe the service and kindness, we couldn’t be more grateful.
OH and I haven’t even got to the best part – the absolute cherry on top – so the #InstagramHusband was golfing the day of our departure and it was at a somewhat inconvenient time. With our late checkout we would still be leaving right at the kids nap times BUT we were given an even LATER checkout so that we would be able to nap the kids.
speechless. *slow (tearful) clap*
Im sure I don’t even need to say it but if your going to stay anywhere in Whistler – the Four Seasons Whistler is it.
Thank you for having us Four Seasons, we truly can’t wait to come back!
